Family Conversations About Immigration

Resources To Foster Empathy And Compassion Around Immigration

Immigration is more than just a human rights issue. It’s a family issue. It’s about keeping families together and free.

Those are values we all share, but we understand that immigration can be pretty hard to talk about, especially since we’re all learning about immigration, how it works, who it impacts, and how we can make our country better for all of us.

With the holidays coming up, many of us will gather around a table with family, friends, and food – and some of you may find yourself having a difficult conversation about immigration and the history of our indigenous lands.

So, we created a family guide to help you begin conversations rooted in empathy, reflection, and connectedness. We’d also like you to watch the video below to hear the wise words of many of the young people with the right answers to some of the toughest questions about immigration.

As we see in this short video, we all have something to learn or teach, including children!
